CENTRE FOR TEACHING SUPPORT - M.ED. TEACHING IN HIGHER EDUCATION ADMISSIONS 

The M.Ed. Teaching in Higher Education programme is one designed to provide an opportunity for tertiary faculty who do not have professional qualification in teaching to acquire it through a one-year Master of Education in Teaching in Higher Education.

 

The programme seeks to:

  1. Meet the needs of prospective applicants through flexible modes of delivery such as modular, sandwich and a blended approach
  2. Equip trainees with professional knowledge, skills needed to teach at higher education institutions.
  3. Foster the development of attitudes and aptitudes required to teach adults learners in higher education institutions
  4. Expose trainees to developmental teaching methods that will cater for the needs of the 21st century students such as critical thinking and problem solving.

 

Target Group

  1. Academic/Teaching Staff of Public/Private Universities, tutors in Colleges of Education, tutors in the Nursing and Midwifery Training Colleges, and lecturers in Technical Universities.
