Admission Requirements

In order to qualify for an offer of admission: Applicant must have passes in six(6) subjects with Overall aggregate of 36/24 or better for WASSCE/SSCE applicants, respectively.

Thus, an applicant must have passes in three core subjects and three elective subjects. Three of the six subjects should be in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies and three must be in relevant electives.

For the purposes of admission, a pass in

  • WASSCE means Grade A1 – C6
  • SSCE means Grade A – D

Applicants must have good passes in English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies and in three of the required electives.

In order words, all the six subjects used in the computation of the aggregate must be C6 or better.

Programme Specific Requirements

BCom Accounting

  1. The modes of entry into the Bachelorrevised of Commerce (Accounting) programme are:

    • Holders of West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) must obtain passes in English, core Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies. Candidates must also have credit passes in any three (3) elective subjects including Financial Accounting. An applicant’s aggregate should not exceed 36.

    • Holders of Senior High School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) must obtain passes in core English, core Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies. Candidates must also have credit passes in any three (3) elective subjects including Financial Accounting. The applicant’s aggregate should be 24 or better.

    • Professional/Business Examination Certificate Holders: Candidates with Part I of the following Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants also qualify.

    • Mature Candidates: Candidates who are at least 25 years at the time of application and have credit passes in English and Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ level or WASSCE, are eligible to apply. Candidates will be required to pass an entrance examination, which consists of a General Paper and a Special Paper covering Management and Economics. Candidates who pass the entrance examination will be interviewed. Successful candidates will be admitted.

    • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy holders with at least Second Class (Upper Division) are eligible. Candidates with Diploma in Accounting awarded by a recognized University are also eligible. Candidates under this category will be admitted to commence the programme at Level 300.

B.Ed. Early Childhood Education

    • Three (3) elective subjects.
