The BSc. programme in Agribusiness offered by the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension seeks to develop competent personnel who can respond to current and emerging challenges in agribusiness management and related fields, and function effectively as professional practitioners in the field. The Department was established in 1988 as one of the five (5) Departments in the School of Agriculture. It started with the teaching of undergraduate courses in the general B.Sc. Agricultural programme. However, in 2012 the need was identified for the establishment of the Agribusiness programme. This culminated in the development of a curriculum for the programme, which finally started in 2013. The University has since been admitting students into the programme to be trained with the programme’s current curriculum. About two batches of students have graduated from the programme and currently, all levels on the programme structure are filled with students. Having implemented the curriculum over the last five years, the University has seen the need to make some review in the programme’s structure based on the emerging trends in and outside Ghana.
