Aim(s)

The aim of the programme is to produce graduates with 21st century skill-sets to implement the New SBC in PEH at pre-tertiary levels (Primary/JHSs/SHSs/ SHTSs/STEM), and function best in other related industries like sports coaching, health education and recreation.

Programme Objectives

Objective(s)

a. Train students with requisite knowledge that will enable them develop competencies in the areas of health, physical education and recreation for teaching and other employments. b. Develop students’ 21st century skills that will enable them practice physical education, health education, recreation and sports effectively as individuals, and employees of organisations locally and internationally. c. Build positive attitudes and core values to be able to function in their career development in health education, physical education, recreation, sports and other related occupations. d. Train students in competencies to be able to conduct basic research in areas of health education, physical education, recreation and sports.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have passes in Core English, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Sciences (Grade D or better for SSSCE candidates and Grade C6 or better for WASSCE candidates), as well as passes in three (3) elective subjects.

In addition, applicants will be required to undergo practical examinations and assessments, including a Motor Educability Test, a Cardiovascular Endurance Test, and participation in a selected game.

Graduation Requirements

  1. Course Requirements: A candidate for the BCom (Accounting) degree must pass all courses taken, meet Inter-Faculty course requirements.
  2. Credit Requirements: A candidate must accumulate a minimum of 140 credits (including Advance Credits).
  3. Additional Requirements: The candidate must attain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 1.0. In addition, the candidate must have settled financial and other obligations to the university.
