About This Programme

Programme Aim

Aim(s)

The goals of the programme are to produce graduates with the requisite scientific and technical knowledge that underlie the establishment and maintenance of sustainable applied chemistry in industrial activities such as manufacturing, chemical processing as well as other allied industrial sectors. Students at the end of this programme would acquire immense knowledge in most of the chemical and processing industries in the country. Similarly, student would gain much information that would help them to be more employable as well as gain admission to further their education at the graduate level.

  1. Train students with the requisite qualification in the Chemical industrial activities
  2. Introduce students to courses related to the chemical and process industries to suit the industrial market demand
  3. Produce graduates with the capability of undertaking research in applied chemistry
  4. Produce graduates with the necessary skills to enable them get self-employed
  5. Produce graduates with the requisite knowledge to take up managerial positions in industries.
  6. Enable graduates from the Polytechnics with the requisite qualification to upgrade their educational level

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have passes in Core English, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science (Grade D or better for SSSCE candidates and Grade C6 or better for WASSCE candidates).

In addition, applicants must have passes in Chemistry and Physics, and either Elective Mathematics or Biology.
