B.Ed. Mathematics with Economics

How to Apply

About This Programme

The B.Ed. (Management with Economics) programme at the University of Cape Coast is the only programme in Ghana that trains pre-service teachers in both management and economics. This dual-disciplinary focus fills a critical gap in current educational offerings, enhancing graduates’ versatility and marketability to teach both subjects effectively. What truly sets this programme apart is its integration of sustainability principles into the core curriculum. By fostering economic literacy and ethical business practices, the programme prepares future teachers to promote responsible decision-making among their students, contributing to sustainable economic growth. Aligned with Ghana’s national development goals and the Education Strategic Plan (2018-2030), it equips graduates with innovative teaching skills that drive quality education (SDG 4) and support decent work and economic growth (SDG 8). The programme also emphasizes practical experiences and contemporary teaching methods, ensuring that graduates are not only subject matter experts but also adaptive educators capable of addressing the dynamic challenges of Ghana’s educational landscape.
